Our Pittsburgh, PA team is currently assisting our client with their search for a Project Manager for a contract to hire opportunity. Candidates must have EAD, Green Card, or US Citizenship. No 3rd parties, please.
Responsibilities: • Along with Development Managers, the Project Manager is responsible for following the standard development process to make the best use of limited resources (time, money, and people) and resulting in a stable, maintainable product that meets user requirements. • The project manager coordinates the following cross-functional teams as appropriate and as indicated by standard development process to ensure successful software or application release; quality assurance, technical documentation, technical operations, training, technical support, and marketing. • Creates and maintains a project plan that tracks the completion and delivery of all IT milestones, including development, quality assurance, documentation, and deployment. Compiles a master project plan using input from multiple managers and planners. • Compiles and tracks budgets for each project. • Provides regular project status, milestones, and risk to all stakeholders. Conducts coordination meetings and provides status reports. May prepare status presentations for executive audience. • Creates and maintains functional specifications as necessary. • Demonstrates deep and broad product knowledge. • Ability to solve problems across multiple domains. • Accomplishes all of the above in accordance with standard procedures. • All other duties are assigned.
Qualifications: • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or Information Technology or related field required, or equivalent work experience. • PMI Certification preferred but not required • 10+ years of related work experience with 8+ years project management or related experience • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Excellent project management skills and proficiency with Microsoft Project a plus • Strong ability to build consensus; ability to influence others, especially those not in the project manager’s reporting structure • Experience leading software development teams and/or software implementation projects; knowledge of successful software development methodologies and best practices • Ability to handle change and a proven record of delivering products to market according to plan and budget • Effective in a fast pace environment, enjoys working in teams, and is a self starter/motivator • Ability to work on/manage multiple projects concurrently
